Most of the time when I tell people I want to stay in the nonprofit industry, they immediately feel compelled to inform me, “There’s no money in nonprofits.” To that I say, “I want the product I sell to make a difference in the world to those who need it the most. I’ll find the money, eventually.”
Look, I will not lie to you, for-profit companies pay more, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a nonprofit job that pays you enough to be happy. I mean, I also feel that our chose industry, admin work, doesn’t really pay that much unless you make it to the upper levels of power, anyway.
To me, nonprofits are important for addressing social issues and making a positive impact on communities who are in need. These organizations rely on dedicated individuals to lead and manage their operations effectively.
The nonprofit sector operates differently from the corporate world. Nonprofits aim for success through social and humanitarian goals instead of profits. These organizations need administrative professionals to handle funding, donors, and community engagement.
Our jobs require heart.
Nonprofit admins need to understand the organization’s mission, values, and social issues. By leveraging our expertise, admin professionals ensure that the organization operates efficiently, over time, which enables the organization to deliver essential services and create a lasting impact on the community.
